G4S connects to Emizon signalling platform in the UK

Phil Lloyd, business development director of G4S, said: “We see Emizon IP as the perfect complement to our portfolio of offerings in the market.

“With remote servicing and diagnostics capability the savings in engineering time and in these times fuel costs is a real plus.”

Bob Tuck, Emizon’s managing director, said: “The Emizon service provides a fully managed end-to-end service from the alarm panel to the ARC, something that has been a key requirement since IP was first mooted.

“We have taken this end-to-end approach in the securing, managing and delivery of messages across both fixed, Broadband/Internet/PSTN, and GPRS IP networks.

“Emizon is about the practical application of leading edge technology to everyday business. By working collaboratively across the industry with alarm panel manufacturers, ARCs and installers, our aim is to ensure that the industry embraces the potential of IP monitoring, whilst protecting the security needs of all our customers both now and in the future.

“With IP becoming the universal protocol and business take-up of Voice over IP (VOIP) services continuing to grow and thus increasing the decline of plain old telephone service, this endorsement from G4S represents further confidence from the industry that Emizon is the preferred choice for complete alarm signalling solutions across all signalling grades and network technologies.”

According to the company, Emizon IP is designed to “effectively give end users, installers and ARCs the opportunity of embracing the benefits of IP monitoring within an inherently secure network over IP, GPRS and PSTN.

“This gives improved functionality over legacy analogue solutions along with flexibility and cost effectiveness, whilst still maintaining the security standards associated with ‘traditional’ dual path signalling services.”
