G4S Justice Services is contracted by the South Wales Police region to carry out key services in custody suites – such as DNA and drugs testing, taking fingerprints and photographs of suspects – while ensuring that the suites are run to the highest standards.
The three custody suites involved – Merthyr Tydfil, Ton Pentre and Pontypridd – were credited at the Awards Ceremony for providing service levels of 98%-99% to the Scientific Support Unit of South Wales Police.
Chief superintendent Ken Isaac, who presented the commendation, told SMT: “The CDOs have performed exceptionally well over the past year.”
