Geovision announces ‘smart’ NVR

Released as a new version of the firm’s pure IP-based surveillance management software, the GV-NVR will support Geovision’s own high definition IP cameras and those from well-known companies like Axis, Sony and Panasonic.

The GV-NVR has been designed to detect abnormal events and behaviours, and features ‘smart’ analysis technology like face and unattended object detection. Its E-map management feature uses a virtual floor plan to alert operators of camera and alarm triggers and integrates digital controls with monitored images.

A remote video viewing and control function is said to allow video streams from IP cameras to be sent to users’ 3G mobile phones or PDA handheld devices for real-time monitoring. Users should then be able to view video streams from 16 IP cameras at the same time through a specially-designed web browser with monitoring, dual audio, and PTZ control.

Geovision claims the GV-NVR’s open architecture makes it compatible with point-of-sale, ATM, access control, and ANPR systems and that its situational awareness capabilities will help to enhance IP surveillance solutions.
