Armed with 20 years’ experience in technology and security, Hayton joins G4S from Chubb Security (UK) where, as managing director, he was responsible for the integration of the Initial and Chubb electronic security businesses on home shores.
Prior to that, Hayton held a number of senior roles within Initial Group companies focusing on running the electronic security business in Europe and the USA.
Hayton’s role is one of a number of new senior positions being created by G4S as it looks to build its total outsourcing capabilities and become a strategic business partner in sectors where security is key. This appointment follows hot on the heels of that of Andrew Whittaker as global aviation solutions director only last month.
As part of the Group’s drive to strengthen its in-house expertise, Hayton’s remit will be to work closely with new and existing sector heads – and G4S’ central and regional technology hubs – to build the Group’s security systems capacity and capability.
Development of technological expertise
Hayton will report to G4S’ group strategy and development director Graham Levinsohn, who told SMT Online: “Developing our technological expertise is integral to our plans for building outsourcing capabilities across specific sectors to become a strategic partner to businesses where security is key.”
Levinsohn concluded: “Clive has a wealth of expertise, and I’m confident he will help us deliver the advances in security systems and technology expertise that will transform the scope of service we’re able to offer across our sectors.”
