Honeywell makes it a century for NSI scheme

[

Honeywell Control Systems has become the one hundredth fire company to achieve approval under the NSI’s third-party certification scheme for fire detection and alarm companies.

NSI was the first approvals body to introduce the BAFE fire protection industry modular scheme SP203 and has now reached 135 approvals, amounting to the majority of the total number of 175 BAFE SP203 registrations attained to date.

Honeywell received NSI Fire Gold approval for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems at its branches in Bracknell, Dartford, Leicester and Manchester. The approval enables the company to issue appropriate certification, providing customers with evidence that their fire detection and alarm system is fit for purpose and correctly installed and maintained, in accordance to the appropriate British Standards.

“The accreditation is certified recognition that all areas of our work and procedures maintain a high level of compliance and knowledge of current standards,” said Andrew Nunn, Honeywell Building Solutions regional general manager. “All our employees receive ongoing training and support to ensure these standards are upheld, which in turn we can pass onto our customers.”

Andrew White, NSI Chief Executive, added: “This is a significant landmark in the development of the NSI fire schemes and BAFE’s SP203 scheme. NSI remains the leading accredited body for fire approvals, due to companies such as HCS wanting to be associated with an organisation that is recognised for promoting the highest standards.”
