IFSEC 2011: iDTEQ adds GSM/GPRS/GPS capabilities to infrasound technology

It has been designed to address the mobile and temporary security requirements of car dealerships, fleet storage areas, containers in staging areas, on site or in transit, and vacant residential, retail, office and industrial properties.

“The AIM200 series adds GSM, GPRS and GPS capabilities to the detector’s patented intrusion infrasound technology, broadening our communication and location capabilities,” said Rob Zeijlemaker, iDTEQ’s global sales director.

“iDTEQ’s AIM200 infrasound devices will revolutionise the manner in which multiple mobile assets are secured – every alarm triggers and transmits the detector’s GPS position. A text message may be used to report a detector’s location at any time or change the system’s GPS configuration and reporting capabilities – all of that battery-powered consuming only minimal power for longer field operation.”

Intrusion infrasound technology in the AIM200 detector has been designed to process material impacts and filter out ambient and non-alarm activity sounds to detect intrusion activity. Firmware sets the baseline detection intelligence for each category of device based on the environments for each industry, iDTEQ said.

The device comprises a box containing a sophisticated intrusion infrasound detector with a built-in GSM/GPRS/GPS board designed to integrate into new and existing security systems.

According to iDTEQ, the solution lends itself to temporary securing closed locations such as an unoccupied residential dwelling, containers or cars.

Detecting in all weather
“It’s not practical to install a full security system in an empty house, but it’s a simple matter to set an AIM device to detect omni-directional and deter intrusion,” said Zeijlemaker. “The iDTEQ AIM device requires no installation or technical knowledge and offers reliable intrusion detection.”

The product has also been built to withstand adverse or extreme weather conditions.

“iDTEQ has designed the AIM200 solutions to be rugged and reliable in these conditions,” said Zeijlemaker. “A single detector offers up to 160 days backup in standby mode and 400 days in sleep mode operating in temperatures of -40 degrees C to +80 degrees C.”
