The facility was opened last June to take over the training of the company’s 70 full-time apprentices from an external provider.
The company is now expanding the programme to train mature engineers in the latest technologies and it is also planning to run courses for its sales teams, admin staff and managers.
Currently the company takes on 25 school-leavers every year and enrolls them on a three-year modern apprenticeship scheme, which leads to them attaining nationally recognised NVQ qualifications.
The centre was set up with help and support from the Learning Skills Council and takes on trainees from across the country as well as the local area.
It is equipped with a general workshop, lecture theatre and a CCTV workshop.
