Input module expands monitoring options

[

In an attempt to simplify integration of devices through an addressable fire system, System Sensor Europe has launched the 4-20mA input module. Enabling devices to communicate through the industry standard 4-20mA, the module allows the measuring of variables such as gas concentrations, pressure and temperature to be added to the panel’s decision-making process.

Using the 4-20mA module, a build-up of potentially dangerous gases can be tracked by the fire system and fire vents opened and evacuation procedures implemented, if the concentration levels become dangerously high. Similarly, a potential ignition source such as a hot running bearing can also be monitored, enabling the fire panel to initiate a shutdown if required.

Conforming to standard system sensor formats, the 4-20mA module offers a local update of its status via an LED light.
