The core elements of the programme will embrace the external threat posed by traditional thieves coupled with an ethical investigative interviewing element that is said to “provide a key solution to the threat from within”. Client-specific elements – such as retail surveillance – can then be added according to the existing in-house skills sets.
Speaking about the initiative, John Jones of the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies told SMT: “This is an exciting joint venture that brings together the strands of both successful and established strategies with professional recognition of the level of learning the training provides for retail and security professionals.”
