Investigation into gas terminal blaze
[
An investigation has begun into the fire at Shell’s gas processing plant in Bacton in Norfolk last week. All workers were evacuated safely after the fire broke out following an explosion at the site on Thursday.
The fire was tackled by more than 50 firefighters and was extinguished after two hours.
The fire was reported to have broken out in a water treatment plant. The terminal, which is operated by several companies, houses gas processing plants and the pipeline connecting the UK to continental Europe. The processing plant was shut down as a precaution but reopened yesterday.
