Irish firm offers wind and solar-powered CCTV
Irish firm MK Survey and Sales Ltd says its hybrid CCTV “is a product tailored for security and monitoring of shopping centres, car parks, offices, schools, banks, housing estates, construction sites and many more”.
The hybrid equipment is supplied by EGL Energy, and distributed in Ireland by MK Survey and Sales.
Self-sufficient
EGL describes its wind-solar hybrid CCTV system as “a self-sufficient independent remote surveillance system that eliminates the need to construct buried electrical video cables that are extremely costly over a wide area”.
“EGL wind-solar hybrid CCTV uses wireless IP technology to transmit real time video images over a distance of 5km,” the company’s site says. “Remote received video signals can be directly monitored and recorded on a PC using MPEG4 technology.
“A surveillance operator can control the pan/tilt/zoom functions of the camera remotely via the PC terminal.”
Wind turbine and solar panel
The system is comprised of a wind turbine, a solar panel, battery charge controller, a wireless IP speed dome camera or fixed camera, transmitter and receiver antennae, lighting protectors, and remote surveillance software. The camera is IP66 graded for external use.
MK Survey and Sales is exhibiting at the Plan Expo Show held in the RDS Dublin between November 4 and 6, 2008.
