Is your apprentice a winner?

The annual awards ceremony takes place on July 15 as part of the BSIA’s Annual Lunch, a prestigious ceremony held at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

The awards showcase the high standards and professionalism of young apprentices in the private security industry and are “a unique opportunity for young rising stars to be acknowledged as part of an unmissable event,” says the BSIA.

Tim Geddes, BSIA Security Systems Section Chairman and Chairman of the Judges, said: “Each year these industry awards recognise the huge strides young apprentices are making towards a successful career within the security industry, demonstrating professionalism, commitment and vast potential in their roles so early on in their careers.

“The BSIA is always keen to encourage new blood, and nominations are invited from both UKAS accredited security companies and their respective colleges.

“These awards not only demonstrate the high standards of these ambitious individuals, but also the support of the nominated companies and the industry as a whole.”

They event is sponsored by Dedicated Micros. The Security Officer of the Year Awards are also presented at the lunch.

The awards are open to apprentice installers from security companies certified by a UKAS accredited certification body.

Apprentices are eligible if they are involved in the installation of alarms, access control, or CCTV.

The scheme is designed for third year and “particularly outstanding” second year apprentices.

Individuals can also be nominated by the college where they are studying.
