IT professionals still sceptical about virtualisation security
The emedia survey found that the main security concerns include consideration for patching and update, guest-to-guest attacks, and the addition of new host software.
Nine percent of non-users said that security concerns had put them off investing in virtualisation software. However, 51% of IT managers said they thought they could overcome these threats by simply training staff and improving understanding. Firewalls and routing were also high on the list.

David Clark, Managing Director at emedia said, “The advantages of virtualisation appear to be tantalising but it seems that IT managers approach it with caution.”
