Sports retail chain JD Sports has awarded the installation and maintenance contract for all of its security systems and services to SectorGuard plc, the GB pound 17.7 million turnover, Approved Contractor Scheme-registered security solutions provider.
In addition to the installation of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) tagging systems, CCTV and intruder alarms, the contract also provides for specialist guarding services at flagship UK stores.
Announcing the contract award, Tim Edwards – JD Sports’ security and audit director – told SMT that there are clear business advantages to working with a single-source supplier. “Over several years we have been integrating our different security systems, but we’ve found that when problems occurred different suppliers tended to blame each other. Often, the only way in which we could resolve the problem would be to make sure representatives from the separate companies were on site at the same time. Thankfully, we now have a single point of contact.”
SectorGuard is the only national security company able to offer clients a single-source service covering all aspects of electronic security and fire systems in addition to bespoke retail guarding services.
JD Sports has been working with SectorGuard’s retail tagging team since 2003.
