“As a duty controller, I often found myself forced to phone my operations director at three am to get missing or unavailable mission critical data, and he was the only person in the company with access or knowledge of it,” he said.
This led Finch to develop Response Centre, a combination of hardware and software that aims to help start-ups and SMEs manage their data more efficiently without high costs.
“The software technology is designed around the familiar Windows platform and existing Microsoft products, and your employees are allocated access according to their individual role within your organisation,” he said.
When it is launched later in the year, the system will also offer customers access to time and attendance data, GPS tracking, asset tracking, integrated CCTV footage and the ability to generate site plans.
All of these modules plug into a central core, which Finch believes offers scalability and the chance to build the entire system in stages. He said this multi-discipline, collective environment can then be applied throughout a company, “allowing everyone to sing off the same song sheet”.
Finch believes expensive, specialised applications are unnecessary for businesses using Response Centre because the system will draw on readily-available proprietary software to supplement much of its functionality.
Response Centre, which Finch hopes to launch at this year’s IFSEC exhibition, will require a sophisticated support network. Although this is not yet established, it conceptually includes onsite training, telephone and email support, free upgrades and an online forum.
