A large warehouse fire affecting several businesses broke out on
Wednesday morning and burned for five hours before firefighters were
able to bring it under control.
The fire at the Cumberland business park in Park Royal, northwest
London, started on Tuesday night and destroyed over half of the single
storey warehouse, which was divided into a number of units including an
industrial dry-cleaners. Around 75 firefighters with 15 fire engines
tackled the blaze through the night.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman told the Wembley Times: “The fire
was in single story warehouse in a business park that was divided into
units. It damaged three of the units and caused 60% damage to the
building. We had an aerial ladder platform with a crane to attack the
fire from above, so it was a fairly sizable fire.”
No one was hurt in the fire and the cause is being investigated.
