Fire Fighting Enterprises has just launched the IP65-rated laser aspirated smoke detector (LASD), a hi-tech fire detection system designed for clean rooms, computer suites and telecommunication exchanges.
The LASD has a high-sensitivity smoke-detection system unit, which monitors very large areas using sampling pipes with specially positioned holes. These are used in the place of actual-point smoke detectors.
LASD units are available in either a single or two-channel version. A pipe up to 100 metres in length can be connected to each channel, giving a maximum area coverage of 1,000 square metres per channel.
