Legion Group has expanded its operational base in the North East with the announcement of two new management appointments and the relocation of its Leeds regional office to larger premises.
As part of the reorganisation, David Kerr – the company’s contracts support manager for the Leeds area since 2006 – has been promoted to regional manager for the North East. In this new role, Kerr’s responsible for service delivery to all customers within the North East region, including Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, DTZ, CB Richard Ellis, Catterick Garrison, Borg Warner and DePuy International.
Kerr boasts over eight years’ experience in the security industry, having previously worked for Initial, Chubb and St James Security.
Area development focus
In addition, Jack Bennett becomes Legion’s newly-appointed area development manager for the North East. He’s responsible for supporting Kerr in managing the company’s existing customer portfolio, as well as developing new business opportunities in the region.
Bennett has over ten years’ experience in the security industry, his former employers including Initial, MITIE Security and Chubb.
Both Kerr and Bennett will be based at the company’s new offices in Leeds.
Continued growth leads to the move
The relocation was necessary following continued growth of Legion’s business in the North East. The new appointments reflect Legion’s commitment to increasing its market share in the region.
The new premises provide increased office space to accommodate the additional staff necessary for managing the company’s enhanced customer portfolio, and also training facilities that allow Skills for Security-approved training courses and First Aid courses to be run on site.
Contract management at a local level
Legion Group provides security and parking services to both the public and private sectors on a nationwide basis, managing contracts at the local level through its national network of eight regional offices spread across England, Scotland and Wales.
The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Royal British Legion Attendants’ Company Trust (a registered charity with the aim of providing employment opportunities for ex-servicemen and women.
