Linx International acquires Perpetuity Training
The combination of Linx International and Perpetuity Training will provide “an exceptional portfolio of accredited training and education services in the field of security and risk management”.
Ken Livingstone will remain as managing director of Perpetuity Training and will be joined by members of the Linx executive team. For her part, Karen Gill will step down from the Board of Perpetuity.
“I’m delighted that Linx will combine its skills and sector experience to those of Perpetuity Training, taking the company portfolio to a new level,” said Gill.
Linx International and Perpetuity Training benefit from a unique synergy that will see them develop the existing client base as well as providing training services to new and diverse markets.
David Gill CSyP, the managing director of Linx International, said: “The acquisition of Perpetuity Training provides a fantastic opportunity to deliver first class accredited qualifications and training programmes for the benefit of the UK and international security management markets.”
Ken Livingstone observed that both companies have an excellent reputation within the security sector, and will work together on the basis of shared culture and goals.
“Working together significantly increases our opportunity for expansion,” he stated, “while retaining the quality of service and personal contact our clients and staff both value and expect.”
The acquisition applies solely to Perpetuity Training: all other parts of the Perpetuity Group remain unaffected.
Statement from The Security Institute
After the deal had been officially announced, The Security Institute’s chairman Mike Bluestone CSyP issued the following statement to members, Fellows and associates of the organisation:
“It is with regret that I have to announce the resignation from the Board of my vice-chairman and director of business, David Gill CSyP. David’s company, Linx International, has recently acquired a controlling interest in Perpetuity Training, your Institute’s training delivery partner, and in the circumstances it’s appropriate that he resigns from the Board to prevent any conflict of interest.
“David will remain a member of CSPRA, and continue to work as Registrar of the RCSP which represents no conflict with his private business affairs.
“David has made an enormous contribution to the Institute since being appointed vice-chairman in April 2007. During this time he has overseen a 100% growth in membership, the selection of a fit-for-purpose HQ, the development of student membership, the inception and implementation of the Register, has driven us to a significant improvement in the Institute’s financial standing and seen the Institute become established as the undisputed leading professional membership body in the UK security sector.
“He has been a bastion of support for me and my predecessor Bill Wyllie CSyP, and supported Di Thomas, Paula Stanbridge and the admin team for the past five years. As vice-chairman, he has worked tirelessly for the Board and for the Institute and his departure is extremely sad. He’s a big man both in stature and intellect. By resigning, David has demonstrated exactly the sort of integrity that I would have expected of him.
“At some point in the near future it’s my intention to find an opportunity to publicly express our gratitude to David, and recognise his tremendous contribution as a Board director and vice-chairman of your Institute.
“I know that you will join with me in wishing David every success in his company’s new and exciting commercial venture.”
