London police publish annual report
It aims to outline and comment upon the MPS performance against the objectives and targets that were set by the MPA in the Annual Policing Plan 2006/07.
In their joint forward to the report, head of the Met Sir Ian Blair and head of the MPA, Len Duval focused on falls in crime in the capital.
They highlighted 62,000 fewer victims of crime last year in the capital, as well as crime falling to an eight-year low.
However, the two men also highlighted the worrying number of recent attacks involving young people, and promised to work towards finding lasting solutions.
But the key achievement highlighted was the role out of Safer Neighbourhood Teams to every ward in London.
