Exova Warringtonfire will test the products against London Underground’s requirements
Manufacturers can get their products into the potentially lucrative market of the London Underground through Exova Warringtonfire’s new online products register.
Anyone wishing to have their products added to the online register will be given guidance on LUL’s required safety performance measures and will then test and validate products against the LUL standards.
The products register will include all materials and products used in a London Underground train, station or platform including train seats, fire doors and flooring materials.
Chris Dean, business unit head for Exova Warringtonfire said, “We already have a number of customers who have used this process and spoken of the benefits. It gets them to market quickly and provides credible validation of their products against LUL standards.
“The service includes the testing of their products for LUL requirements for reaction to fire and fire resistance, and in some instances such as tunnel lining and penetration sealants it will be a combination of both.”
