Many aspects of our national infrastructure – from transportation through to electricity, water, oil and gas installations, as well as vital data networks – remain extremely vulnerable to the terrorist threat. It’s therefore essential the Government uses the expertise available to it to ensure their safety now and for the future.
It’s extremely good news indeed that the Government is taking the threat of terrorism (and security issues in general) seriously. We need to look at security in a different way to previous generations in terms of how we protect stations, ports, airports, shopping centres and sports stadiums.
The new recommendations will help us all to plan for the future with greater assuredness.
