The BSSS was founded back in 1963, providing a unique Forum for risk surveyor members to keep their knowledge and skills updated and for security systems/risk control solutions providers to reach an influential and knowledgeable audience. The group now has nearly 100 members.

Society meetings are held at 1.30 pm on the first Monday of each month at The Tally Ho Conference Centre (located next to the West Midlands Police Training College on Pershore Road, Birmingham).
