Milestone and Vidient team up to improve IP productivity
The integration means every camera feed in a CCTV system will be constantly and automatically monitored for suspicious events by Vidient’s software. And, if a threat is discovered, the Milestone software immediately alerts operators and displays the video for further investigation.
By freeing up staff to focus only on cameras where interesting events are taking place, the companies hope to improve the productivity of employees and the overall level of security they deliver.
“Our customers are asking for powerful surveillance capabilities that are easy to manage,” said Lars Thinggaard, Milestone’s CEO. “By integrating Vidient’s SmartCatch with our video management capabilities, we add the intelligent analysis needed to make use of vast quantities of video information.”
Vidient’s president and CEO, Frank Pao, said security personnel are struggling to monitor today’s extensive video surveillance networks, which can involve hundreds of cameras.
“By partnering with Milestone, we make it easy for our customers to focus on the video that matters, significantly improving the cost and effectiveness of their security.”
SmartCatch 3.0, which is designed to detect suspicious activity and unattended objects, has been tested at international airports and other critical infrastructure facilities.
