National Security Inspectorate re-structure management team
Security and fire industry certification body the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) has announced that they have restructured their top level management structure in an effort to focus on and adapt to the changing priorities of their approved companies.
Chris Pinder has become the new director of external affairs and will take responsibility for stakeholder management of the organisation and their ‘outward looking vision’, according to a company statement.
Meanwhile Elaine Ward is now commercial director focusing on sales, marketing and training, Graeme Hazelwood becomes business support director and Kay Aitkin remains in charge of operations but with a new title, director of service delivery.
The changes are as a result of the departures from the senior management team of Paul Bigland, former finance and administration director and the hugely respected Ian Sanderson, who was in charge of standards and certification for the NSI.
The NSI chief executive Jeff Little said that he believes the changes to the team will enable the inspectorate to become more responsive and proactive to changes in the fire and security certification environment.
He said, “I believe that the changing threat, the advancing technology and the advent of new regulatory requirements all combine to make it essential that we adapt to what is in effect a changed paradigm.”
“NSI have invested in training a new breed of auditor for the fire risk assessment market and hope to lead the field in this area. Audits for health and safety, environmental management, aviation and maritime security as well as information security management systems are included in the updated portfolio of capabilities. Whilst our core business remains fully centred on our traditional centres of excellence, we must respond to our approved companies seeking a more joined up and integrated audit regime.”
