New dual optical panel and detector

[

Nittan has launched a new control panel for its Evolution range of fire detection products. The new range of Evolution protocol addressable control panels are manufactured by Advanced Electronics.

The panel consists of a simple to use LCD menu driven interface, dual, flashbased microprocessor technology driven by an on-board power supply, and a charger approved to EN54 parts 2 and 4. The panels are fully expandable from one to two or four loops, depending on the model, and come complete with on-board sounder circuits.

System navigation keys make for easier installation and use, while the panel can also be accessed remotely via a modem connection for quick and convenient diagnostics.

Nittan has also launched the Evolution EVC-DP dual optical detector, which helps reduce false alarms caused by non-combustion products such as steam, dust and aerosols. The EVC-DP effectively measures the actual particle size in the chamber via its combined IR and blue LED technology. As steam and dust are much larger particles than smoke, the detector won’t false alarm.

Other features of the EVC-DP include an internal current limiting resistor, as opposed to the resistor in the base, so fewer base variants are required and a 3600 Omniview LED indicator, providing clear and visible indication of the sensor’s operation from any angle. The EVC-DP is the latest addition to Nittan’s range of EVC conventional detectors and is compatible with Nittan UB-4 and STB-4SE bases.
