A new grouping of manufacturers has been formed by the British Fire Consortium. The BFC Manufacturers Group consists of representatives of companies which assemble, manufacture and distribute products such as portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets and signage.
“We felt it was important for the manufacturer members within the BFC to have a voice with which to raise the issues pertinent to them,” said general secretary Roger Chamberlain. “For example, of particular concern to all of them at the moment is the impact on business caused by delays in the certification process. We also plan for the group to speak out about topics such as accreditation standards, national and regional government policies, EC directives and other current and potential trade issues.”
