New IP camera from Dedicated Micros
Based around Dedicated Micros’ award-winning NetVu Connected architecture, the CamVu 2000 aims to support seamless communication with other NetVu CCTV elements. The company claims that this allows deep integration with a wide range of DVRs and devices whilst supporting simplified integration with larger systems.
Pauline Norstrom, Worldwide Head of Marketing at Dedicated Micros said, “Typical applications – where greater image resolution and quality to identify suspects is a pressing requirement – include public space surveillance, the retail environment and, crucially, banks.
“Traditionally they have used disparate 35 mm wet film-based cameras to provide detailed individual pictures of a scene in high security areas; now this can be accomplished with CamVu 2000 which seamlessly integrates with the NetVu Connected system.”
The specialised ChipWrights Visual Signal Processing (ViSP) technology incorporated into the camera is said to allow it to transmit simultaneous MPEG-4 and JPEG images which can then be recorded on associated NetVu Connected DVRs.
Dedicated Micros say this flexibility enables users to record high quality images for evidential purposes whilst watching streamed video at the same time.
The CamVu 2000, which can be fitted inside and outdoors (with an external camera housing), also features an integrated pre-alarm feature to make sure critical pre-event movement are captured.
