New name, new certification mark

[

BRE Certification Limited is changing its name to BRE Global Limited, so the approvals body is introducing new certification marks and is providing information on how the rename and new mark may affect your company.

A spokesperson for BRE said: “The new name, BRE Global, will help us reinforce our mission of ‘Protecting People, Property and the Planet’.”

BRE Global will continue to promote both the LPCB and BREEAM brands, marks and standards, as well as the Red and Green Books. The LPCB ‘horseshoe’ certification mark remains unchanged and will continue to be used on all approved fire and security products and services.

The new BRE Global certification mark has been created for use primarily in the approval of:

– Companies with management systems approved to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

– Construction products

– Environmental schemes (competent person schemes – BREEAM, Code For Sustainable Homes, Home Inspectors, Energy Certificates)

For certificates that are “maintained and kept in force,” BRE will be issuing newly branded certificates, either at the time of the next certificate update, or within an eighteen month period. These new certificates will be issued under the company name of BRE Global Limited and show either the BRE Global certification mark or the LPCB horseshoe as previously.

Fire and security companies may, as now, elect to use the LPCB mark provided they have been product or installer approved via LPCB.
