Gavin Windsor
has been appointed managing director at G4S Aviation Services (UK), leading operations and a dedicated team of over 3,000 personnel. Previously, Gavin was the director of detention and escorting within the Care and Justice Division of G4S (UK and Ireland).


Pilgrims Group’s new director of business development is Simon Dorset, former head of strategic planning for future force requirements in the headquarters of the Provost Marshal. Dorset commanded posts in the Royal Military Police for 25 years, and has extensive experience in close protection, counter-terrorism and investigations.


Axis Security has appointed Roy Hudson as account manager. Armed with 17 years’ experience of the security sector, Hudson assumes responsibility for operational and fiscal management on a portfolio of contracts. Prior to joining the guarding contractor, Hudson was operations manager at First Security.


Remploy CCTV – the largest provider of CCTV services in the UK, operating Public Space Surveillance systems on behalf of local authorities and other organisations – has just appointed Nigel Carter as business development manager. Carter’s role will be to develop existing accounts while also securing new business for the ACS-registered security company.

Liane Hartley – principal socio-economic consultant at multi-disciplinary consultancy Capita Symonds – has been elected to the Board of the Designing Out Crime Association (DOCA), an organisation for security and design professionals keen on promoting safer communities and reducing anti-social behaviour.


The former senior profit protection manager at River Island, Jo Day has joined the Oris Group’s consulting team to deliver Loss Prevention Academy training packages to the retail and security supplier industries. Reporting to Oris Consulting’s director Anne Frost, Day is also tasked with co-ordinating project work that supports the delivery of ‘Shrinkschool’.


CameraWatch – the UK’s leading CCTV compliance body – has appointed Kenneth Mullen of UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP to its Board as non-executive legal director. Mullen is a partner in the Media and Technology Section at the firm’s London office, specialising in Data Protection, privacy and information security issues.


Former OCS Security managing director Richard Fenton-Jones has been appointed managing director of G4S Security Services (UK)’s Monitoring and Response division. Fenton-Jones is to oversee operations and new business development.


Access control specialist TDSi has announced three new appointments to its sales and marketing team, at the same time promoting Stuart Griffiths to national sales manager. The field sales team is strengthened by the addition of Richard Hill (northern area sales manager) and former Kaba and Ingersoll Rand employee Alex Rumsey (sales manager for the southern region). Meantime, Lucy Singleton has joined the company’s internal sales team under the tutelage of Sarah Cunningham to work with UK and overseas clients.


Gert van Iperen
has become the chairman of Bosch Security Systems, succeeding Uwe Glock who, having been head since 2001, now takes on the chairmanship of Bosch Thermo- technology. For his part, van Iperen has served on the Board of Management at Bosch Security – and assumed responsibility for the worldwide product business – since 2005. Peter Ribinski (who served as president of Bosch Security Systems in North America from 2001 to 2005) has replaced van Iperen, and now overseas the global business units responsible for security systems product development.


Chris Kendall
has joined central London-based Security Recruitment as national account manager for the electronic security sector. Chris brings over four years’ experience to the role, having been involved in the recruitment of professional practitioners across the four major disciplines of the fire and security systems sectors.


ATG Access – the UK-based manufacturer of bollard systems for traffic management, high security protection and counter-terrorism – has added two key members to its international business division. Yan Ferrieres joins as export area manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with Stephen Adams joining as export co-ordinator.


The British Parking Association (BPA) has a new president – Lynn Witham. Witham previously worked for Westminster City Council and served as the parking office manager at Wandsworth Council until 2002.
