Pixim signs deal to meet growing demand in China
RTI, which is based in Hong Kong, will be distributing Pixim’s image sensors, processors and design kits as well as key algorithms that allow camera developers to design and build advanced cameras.
RTI’s CEO, Arthur Chau, said, “Pixim chipsets are sought after by China’s security camera manufacturers because they are known to deliver the best image quality.”
He said his sales and technical teams are looking forward to representing Pixim and helping to meet the needs of Greater China’s burgeoning security industry.
According to the South China Morning Post, China’s surveillance and equipment market will reach US $33.9bn in 2009 – a growth of 381% in just three years.
“For Pixim, RTI is well positioned to address the fast-expanding demand for our Orca chipsets and camera reference design kits in the PRC,” said Alfred Chou, Pixim’s sales and marketing manager for Greater China.
“RTI will generate sales and provide application engineering services and technical support to manufacturers throughout Greater China who are looking to deliver Pixim chipset-enabled security cameras.”
Pixim now has five representatives across China and Taiwan, including BridgeHub and SEED Electronic Technology.
