Pro-wrestler caught on CCTV grappling for real
WWE wrestlers are famed for their less than convincing ‘fights’ and their even less convincing acting, but there was nothing fake about WWE star Shawn Daivari’s intervention on a busy commuter train last week.
Mr Daivari was better known as simply Daivari in the WWE where he would be regularly seen grappling other men with scissor grabs and armlocks.
However, last week he could be found – and seen by CCTV – grappling with an abusive commuter on a train in Minneapolis.
The vigilante intervened after a drunk passenger became abusive and despite having pressed the emergency call button no help arrived.
Daivari told the WWE’s website: “I didn’t know if this guy had a knife in his pocket or a gun in his backpack. So I just went up to him, turned him around, grabbed him in a rear naked choke/sleeper hold and held until I felt his body go limp.
“I dropped him, locked on a body scissors and held him down until the next stop, which was about 45 seconds down the road.”
The passenger was dazed by not seriously injured as he was forcefully removed from the busy train.
That’s the last time he messes with an actor-come-wrestler.
