Protection for lone workers

Lone worker protection

WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Chubb Electronic Security, the EMS Group has provided radio-based lone worker systems for Vodafone engineers who work in mobile network communications centres throughout the UK.

Following the introduction of current Health and Safety legislation, Vodafone embarked on a staff protection programme which included the addition of EMS System 7000 units at over 50 different sites. Essentially, System 7000 is a wire-free, radio-based solution. Each engineer wears a small, robust alarm transmitter on their belt. These can be triggered manually or automatically following a fall, accident or security alert.

Each System 7000 ‘module’ is integrated with a given site’s building management system, which in turn provides Vodafone with remote monitoring of all alarm situations in each site.

A simple log on and log off procedure may be implemented to ensure that each person entering a site is protected at all times.
