PTZ dome faces up to the cold
Norbain is offering customers the Q6032-E network camera with Arctic Temperature Control, a “new and unique” function allowing the camera not only to operate at -40 deg C but also power up at that temperature following a power failure.
Norbain says the dome is designed for easy and reliable installation in demanding surveillance applications and, with IP66 rating against dust and water, is suitable for installation at airports and seaports, as well as for city and perimeter surveillance.
Powered through High Power over Ethernet, installation is simplified since only one cable is needed for carrying power, as well as video and pan/tilt/zoom controls.
With High PoE, the camera can continue to operate even during a power failure as the network can be connected to an uninterruptible power supply. A High PoE midspan is supplied with the camera.
Features include automatic day and night functionality, 128x wide dynamic range, progressive scan technology, and 35x optical and 12x digital zoom with autofocus.
License plates can be read from a distance of 160 meters. A moving object within the camera’s field of view can also be automatically detected and followed using the camera’s intelligent auto-tracking functionality.
It provides H.264 video compression, which optimizes bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported.
“The Axis Q6032-E is a top-performing PTZ dome camera that’s ready right out of the box for mounting outdoors,” says Buzz Coates, Norbain’s branded manager, CCTV.
