An ongoing refurbishment project at Her Majesty’s treasury building on London’s Parliament Street has included the installation of Vistar 35 Series pan and tilt cameras supplied by Vicon Industries.
Specified along with high speed zoom lenses and bespoke, weather-proof housings, the cameras offer six degrees per second pan speeds, and tilt speeds of 3 degrees per second.
The accompanying mounts and brackets were tailor-made by Vicon in order to preserve the aesthetics of this listed building. The bracketry was also finished in a non-standard RAL colour to client specifications.
Meanwhile, the accompanying Vicon lenses are high speed 10:1 models complete with automatic iris zoom and video drive.
The project is part of a major refurbishment of the Treasury building’s West Wing, which is due to complete later on this month.
All security-related systems installations are being carried out by ADT (City) under the watchful gaze of project architect Foster and Partners and civil engineer Bovis LendLease.
In addition to the CCTV installation, access control units (supplied by Tac) are being added, so too all-new visitor registration systems and fast lane barriers.
