Pyronix detector takes top spot in Security Industry Awards
The Veritec P2 sequential confirmation detector developed by Pyronix – which helped the company take the Best Manufacturer prize at last November’s Security Excellence Awards – came top of the pile in this year’s BSIA Security Industry Awards.
The 2002 finalists in categories covering CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and physical security, etc included: AnexTEK Global, Baxall, BT RedCare, Dedicated Micros, Elpas Local Positioning Systems, Myriad Technologies, Sony Broadcast & Professional, Tavcom Training, TSSI, Vista and WebWayOne.
Developed in response to the ACPO 2000 Security Systems Policy, the Veritec P2 combines two completely separate technologies – PIR and pressure wave detection – to detect unwanted intruders.
Also honoured at the BSIA/IFSEC dinner was Mike Hawker, former chairman of Modern Alarms, who was presented with the Peter Greenwood Award by the Guild of Security Professionals.
