Qualys appoints Derek James as managing director for EMEA northern region

Qualys, one of the leading providers of software-as-a-service (SaaS) IT security risk and compliance management solutions, has announced that Derek James is joining the company as md for the EMEA northern region.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the key areas of sales and business sevelopment in the Information Technology and security sectors, James will be working closely with customers and partners to expand business in the region.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Qualys at an exciting time,” he said. “As companies face an ever-changing security threat landscape, QualysGuard provides a cost-effective, automated, easy-to-deploy and manage IT security and compliance solution.”

Driving business development strategies

Prior to joining Qualys, James held managerial roles in leading companies such as BT Global Services, Computacenter and Integralis, with a strong focus on driving business development strategies within the security divisions across global sales channels.

James has a proven track record in significantly driving growth and improving business performance to ensure market leadership while forging strong relationships with customers and partners across both the enterprise and SME markets.

“With the accelerated adoption of the SaaS delivery model for security and the additional services we have brought to the market,” suggested Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO of Qualys, “the company is now expanding its global presence and partnerships with organisations such as BT and, very recently, Dimension Data.”
