Raid ‘insider’ used mini camera, court told
Ermir Hysenaj, 27, of New Road, Crowborough, East Sussex, used a tiny camera fitted to his belt to take footage of the site just one month before the raid, the jury was told.
A picture of a camera similar to the one alleged to have been used was shown to the jury alongside a 50 pence piece.
Sir John Nutting QC, prosecuting, said that a specialist shop in Derbyshire had spent two hours fitting the equipment without knowing what it would be used for.
The court was told that they managed to leave the Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent with GB pound 53 million despite CCTV, a double-locked ‘strong room’ and steel perimeter fences.
Seven men and a woman are on trial, all of them deny charges relating to the robbery in February.
The trial continues.
