Reliance Security Group commits to Skills Pledge
The announcement (made at the National Employer Service’s Conference in central London) will have a substantially positive impact on more than 45,000 employees in England working for Reliance, Interserve plc, the VT Group plc and EDS (UK).
For its part, the Reliance Security Group has made a very public and voluntary commitment to support all of its employees in developing themselves in the workplace and striving towards a relevant, valuable qualification at Level 2 or above (the equivalent of five GCSEs at A-C grades) including basic skills such as both numeracy and literacy.
Part of the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the National Employer Service supports large, multi-site employers in delivering a range of work-based learning programmes in-house (including apprenticeships, NVQs and basic skills training). Employers that make a commitment to the Skills Pledge enjoy support from skills brokers – as part of the LSC’s Train To Gain service – to help them draw up their plans.
Julian Nicholls (Group MD at Reliance) said: “We believe that investing in training helps our employees to feel valued, and have the opportunity to deliver to their full potential. We can offer exceptional customer service.”
