The cellular provider’s sites are generally located in remote areas without phone line infrastructure, so alarm systems communication with a control room over phone lines is impossible. Long range radio is not applicable because although it enables one-way reporting to the control room, it does not allow operators to control the system from the there.
The answer was to transfer data over the GSM/GPRS channel available at the antenna sites. The ProSYS integrated system enables reporting and remote system control.
The GSM/GPRS module also automatically sends SMS alerts of onsite equipment malfunctions to regional technical engineers.
WatchOUT outdoor detectors and ProSound external sounders are installed at each site in Mexico and Latin America. These are remotely controlled and diagnosed from the central control room.
