In his new role as business development manager, Peter Robinson will be responsible for ensuring EverFocus capitalises on growth opportunities from the adoption of its HD-CCTV DVRs and cameras “which offer the simplest upgrade path to HD for coaxial-based surveillance installations”.
Robinson brings over 30 years’ industry experience to EverFocus. He started his career in Sheffield as a bench engineer working with domestic televisions. Eventually he made the move to London, working for Kings Cross Video on servicing RCA surveillance.
Following on from that appointment, Robinson served as northern regional manager for distributor CCD who, of course, would be bought by Norbain.
After CCD, Peter was recruited by Dave Simpson at AGE CCTV and, during his time at AGE, was promoted to managing director.
After leaving AGE, Robinson worked for ADI Gardiner as its UK CCTV product manager before being recruited by Ikegami as general manager for EMEA (with specific responsibility for the Visual Electronics and Systems Division concentrating on security surveillance and medical products).
Robinson is well known within the industry and has a track record of success in developing sales channels for new surveillance technology.
He had kept a close eye on EverFocus and the progress the company has made in bringing HD-CCTV products to market, and was attracted by the huge potential that HD-CCTV offers for resellers, integrators and end users alike.
Robinson commented: “EverFocus has an enviable portfolio of HD-CCTV products that make it very simple for surveillance installations that use coaxial cable to upgrade to HD. My role is to ensure that EverFocus attracts new channel partners and maximises the sales opportunities that HD-CCTV offers.”
He added: “We need to educate the market that HD quality is available for everyone who currently has analogue, coaxial-based installations, and show how easy it is to upgrade to HD’s fantastic image quality.”
