The Scottish Fire Services College has contracted out the training of fire and rescue services’ fire safety officers to consultants C S Todd & Associates. The training comprises three modules, each of three weeks, and is the basic training given to specialist fire safety officers throughout Scotland.
“The partnership with a specialist consulting practice will enable the excellence in training given to fire safety officers in Scotland to continue, with enhancements that will ensure its relevance to the modern role of fire safety officers,” commented Garry Burnett, head of programme delivery at the College.
As part of the contract, the consultancy will also be responsible for the immediate revision and updating of two e-learning modules on the College website.
Commenting on the award of the contract, CS Todd & Associates’ managing director, Colin Todd, said: “We are proud to continue our existing relationship with such a prestigious seat of learning and, indeed, our excellent relationship with the Scottish fire and rescue services. This major new contract is an exciting opportunity for involvement in the further training of our fire safety colleagues in the fire and rescue services.”
