The award is in recognition of consistently high performance when it comes to managing and communicating with its 7,000 staff – most of whom, of course, are out on the road for the majority of their working day.
Investors in People is designed to encourage companies to focus on the end results of their investment in training, a recent study showing that 75% of Investors in People-accredited firms claimed the award had brought them "substantial business benefits".
"We always knew that good communication and training was vital for our business," said Michelle Clark, head of employee communications at Securicor Security.
Clark added: "Now we have an even greater understanding of the costs and benefits involved, and our members of staff appreciate the fact that we look upon the need for training very seriously."
