Security Alliance launches sponsorship-based funding scheme for ongoing work

According to an official statement, the Security Alliance has also raised the issue of matched Government funding with Lynne Featherstone, the Government minister with direct responsibility for the Security Industry Authority.

Undoubtedly this is a critical juncture for the security sector as the SIA prepares to unveil its proposals for a future regulatory framework. For its part, The Security Alliance must be ready and able to analyse these proposals and potentially put forward alternatives to ensure they fulfil the requirements of private security provision.

Those proposals must also be aimed at continuing to remove criminal elements from the sector, in turn making sure that public safety is maintained through the suggested regulatory changes.

To achieve these collective goals, The Security Alliance will use the monies raised through sponsorship to:

  • appoint an independent chairman to drive the Alliance forward and to deliver a clear, united message to the present Regulator as well as central Government
  • fund a project management resource to co-ordinate the Working Groups being created to help map out a future regulatory regime
  • fund communication forums to keep individuals and companies fully informed about future regulation
  • perhaps fund future lobbying and PR activity (dependant upon the output from the Working Groups)

How to become a sponsor of the Security Alliance

Interested parties can become sponsors of the Security Alliance by signing up for a specific category. These are as follows::

  • Gold and Silver sponsorship: for individual companies wishing to participate fully in the activities of the Working Groups
  • Corporate sponsorship: for customers who may be affected by proposed changes to the regulatory framework
  • Associate sponsorship: for companies or individuals keen to support the activities of the Alliance
