Security Institute chairman, Emma Shaw, said:
We are thrilled with the part the Diploma in Security Management continues to play in enhancing the professionalism of the security industry. Given the tough economic climate the high demand we are seeing for the course is exceptional and illustrates the growing popularity of the sector and the calibre of the people working in it.
The course is designed to fit around a full-time job and takes around 12 months to complete. Launched in 2009, over 100 people completed the course in 2012, with the course still expanding in popularity.
Among those currently taking the course are security managers, health and safety managers, facilities managers, senior police officers, fire service personnel, and members of the armed forces.
