State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Security manufacturer

Under the GardTec and Rokonet brands, the company’s portfolio includes advanced wired and wireless solutions covering control, detection, warning, communication, software and IP-based security and access systems. Since export sales were transferred to the parent company in Israel, it has focused purely on the UK and Northern Ireland. Sales, telesales support and technical support teams have expanded. Software and installer guides are available on a new website, while a trainer travels to customers nationwide to carry out installation training free of charge. A new database allows quick turnaround of replacement products and, in a recent Customer Survey, 79% of clients said their overall opinion of the group was either very good or excellent.

Runners-Up

IndigoVision

Demonstrating an impressive five-year sales growth, the IP video solutions provider headquartered in Edinburgh now exports to more than 40 countries. Exports support the growth and account for 80% of product sales. IndigoVision’s IP video solution is now in its fourth generation. The company sells to authorised partners who install the product after having trained at the IndigoVision Academy. In-house support results in a high level of repeat business. All partner inquiries are responded to within one working day.

Nedap

Based in the Netherlands, Nedap provides an extensive range of products, systems and services plus expertise in RFID and electronics. The organisation has a subsidiary in Berkshire which has its own order desk, commercial staff and technical engineers dedicated to the English market. AEOS is Nedap’s open and flexible security system based on ICT developments and security standards. Products are used by enterprise companies worldwide.

Panasonic

Panasonic System Solutions Europe is a customer-focused company that last year expanded its Panasonic Premier Integrator scheme (covered extensively within Security Management Today) across Europe. Partners gain exclusive access to project and marketing support, product announcements, campaigns, awards, conferences and PPI training. Dedicated training is also extended to all of the company’s dealers. Technical support is provided through a quick response network of trained engineers. Customer Care Surveys are carried out twice a year, while so-called ‘e-blast’ portals are regularly sent to customers and partners alike.

Pelco

Based in California, Pelco is the world’s largest video manufacturer with a product line of more than 5,500 finished goods. The company feels that it’s “synonymous with fanatical customer service and has no equal”. Many different response programmes encourage customers to suggest ways to improve that service still futher. Pelco has experienced tremendous growth over the past five years. From a start of two worldwide offices in 2002 – Pelco (UK) in England and Pelco (Europe) in the Netherlands – it now has a world distribution centre in Singapore and offices throughout the world.

Zenitel

The company is an international market leader in integrated communication solutions and is the world’s largest intercom manufacturer. It has a presence in more than 75 countries and more than one million users worldwide. IP technology is playing a vital part in its product development. The first IP product was the VoIP AlphaNet Solution and then the AlphaCom E intercom and marine system. Last year the company developed new IP intercom stations, Webservices, VoIP SIP support and more.
