Security publications team up for guarding campaign
Lowden believes that the linkage between competitive pricing (margin) and fair employment practices should be broken. He also feels that if the Top 20 UK guarding companies were to break the current model of employment practices, complete with low wages and long hours, they would revitalise the industry. Such a move would offer the country an additional resource to assist with responses to modern threats such as terrorism and additional manpower requirements during disasters – both natural and man-made.
Following on from our hugely successful Four Issues, One Voice Campaign, Security Management Today and Infologue.com have joined forces once again to launch another Editorial Campaign – Make The Change. If you agree with the sentiments expressed here by Stuart (and Bill Muskin, the chairman of VSG) then write in to SMT’s Editorial Office and let us know. We want to stimulate the debate on what employment practices should look like in a modern, thriving security industry.
We’re setting up a Charter for Change – and you can add your name to the list of people who want to (and will) make a difference rather than just talk about it. The Charter is to appear in a special section on info4security.com and at www.makethechange.org.uk .
