Following the publication of a new edition of a code of practice, a seminar examining various aspects of construction site fire safety is to be held at Warwick University on 29 June.
The 7th edition of Fire Prevention on Construction Sites will form the basis of the seminar. Presentations will include an overview of the changes in the new edition and the way it links with other guidance; managing modern construction such as large timber frame projects and pod construction; and the control of ‘hot work’ activities.
Other sessions will include guidance on ‘mothballing’ sites and protecting them from arson, and protocols for maintaining effective liaison with enforcement authorities.
Speakers will drawn from the insurance and the construction industries, health and safety and fire research bodies, and the fire and rescue service.
