The authority is looking for two experienced and high-calibre candidates to join the six existing board members.
Advertisements for the roles will appear in the national, regional and security trade press from Sunday, 30th September.
SIA chairman Ruth Henig said she was looking forward to working with board members who will represent the particular interests of Scotland and the private security industry.
“The SIA plays a central role in enhancing public protection through the regulation of the private security industry; our new board members will be able to make an important contribution to this work and to the future development of the industry throughout Great Britain,” she said.
It is anticipated that the new board members will start their posts in early 2008, with each appointment expected to last three years.
