Skills for Security: Call for Entries

Skills for Security’s annual Contribution to Skills Development and Training Award, sponsored by the National Open College Network, is awarded every year at the organisation’s conferences in England and Wales and in Northern Ireland

At the present time, it becomes extremely beneficial for comapnies and individuals to distinguish themselves from competitors and win additional business. Many organisations do not realise how important industry awards can be in achieving this goal. By applying (free) for the Skills Award, enrtrants can benefit from:

– demonstrating excellence and helping to uphold industry standards

– the opportunity to showcase their best work

– allowing people to gain a sense of pride and benchmark the quality of their work within the industry

– providing an additional marketing tool that is useful to existing and new customers

– a commercial edge over competitors

– a quality mark by independent experts that ensures standards are high

– the opportunity to improve staff motivation

– increased PR opportunities within the industry

So, what are you waiting for?

Entry forms are available direct from Skills for Security, and must be returned on or before Friday 28 August.

The independent judges will be looking for a training programme or initiative that can clearly demonstrate any of the following, so readers should consider these points when applying:

– successful implementation of a new training initiative to address a specific skills need (or needs)

– measurable contribution to profitability or staff retention

– evidence of improved service to the customer

– training that has increased an organisation’s competitive advantage

– training that has made a significant contribution to raising professionalism within the sector

The awards will be presented at the Skills for Security Conferences on 14 October at La Mon Hotel, Belfast and on 20 October at the RAF Museum, Hendon. Tickets will be available shortly.
